The Python courier shoulder bag is designed to protect a large DSLR with lens attached and up to four additional lenses. Opening the bag is a case of unfastening two buckles. The deep internal compartment benefits from extremely rigid, padded dividers, beside which are two additional dividers to protect lenses that are stored on top of each other. Smaller sized DSLRs and prime lenses are best suited, but, as we found, it’s possible to squeeze a 70-200mm f/2.8 telephoto zoom alongside an enthusiast DSLR with standard zoom attached. The outside dimensions are 394 x 267 x 152mm – turning it into a great general-purpose messenger bag when the internal dividers are stripped out – and the shoulder strap is made from a nylon material similar to that used to make car seat belts. The broad shoulder pad distributes weight superbly across the shoulder, while a criss-cross pattern of non-slip material glues it to your shoulder on the move, and ballistic nylon is used as the material for the exterior of the bag. Thick, well finished and ultra durable, it contributes to the bag’s high-end feel. For tablet users there’s a dedicated sizeable pocket at the rear with a waterproof zipper to prevent inclement weather reaching your kit.
