 Given the specialist equipment used to capture architecture, and the importance of viewpoint on perspective and impression, it takes a book such as Architectural Photography to fully appreciate how removed this is as a photographic genre from the others.

Adrian Schulz does well to cover everything relevant in this title, from brief notes on the genre’s history right through to more trendy processing options, in between which lies all the information you’re likely to need on lenses and equipment, as well as compositional advice.

While the images used to illustrate the author’s points are technically excellent and aesthetically pleasing, practically all (pictoral) images have been processed in an HDR-like manner. While HDR aficionados may see this as a bonus, those less keen on the effect are likely to find it overwhelming.

Even if the reader chooses to gloss over some of the more specialist information, the basic advice and diversity of the book’s images should be enough to inspire novice architecture photographers.
