The What Digital Camera charity auction has raised a tidy sum for the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal.

The auction was launched last week with over a dozen generous donations of digital cameras and accessories from our friends in the UK photo industry, and ended over the weekend. The auctions were hosted on the eBay for Charity website, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Haiti Appeal.

The grand total includes a winning bid of £577 for the Leica D-Lux 4 and case, £398 for the Nikon D3000 kit and £270 for the Canon Ixus 870 IS.

What Digital Camera would like to thank all those companies who kindly donated products to the auction (in alphabetical order): Blubox software, Canon, Casio, Epson, Fujifilm, Leica, Lexar, Manfrotto, Nikon, Olympus, Samsung, Sigma and Tiffen.

We would also like to thank our friends at dpReview and PhotographyBlog.com for publicising the auction on their websites.
