First glimpse promised at CES later this week

According to Photography Press Sakar International is promising to launch a whole host of underwater camera kit at CES in Las Vegas this week.

Sakar bought Vivitar last year and these are the first of its Vivitar-branded launches since then.

The most exciting arrival will be the Vivitar V8400P camera which is both shockproof and able to take 8.1 megapixel pictures at depths of down to 30 feet.

Other features worth a mention include its video recording capabilities, 2.4 inch LCD screen, 32MB of internal memory and 8x digital zoom as well as its compatibility with SD memory cards.

We don’t have UK pricing as yet but it will be $129.95 stateside.

There is also the V8025 digital camera, which is an 8 megapixel touchscreen model with an 8x digital zoom,
2.4 inch LCD screen and HD capabilities for $99.

And Vivitar  is promising an array of new DSLR
lenses for the new Vivitar Series 1.

Says Photography Press: ‘With prices ranging from
$149.95 to $399.95, the series offers an 85mm F1.4A spherical lens for
portraits, plus 500mm and 800mm f/8.0 mirror lenses – all usable with
both film and digital SLR cameras. The line also offers a 650-1300mm preset lens with a universal mounting ring (T-mt).’

The company is also promising a new charger for Lith-ion batteries.
