Sigma has announced two new macro lenses designed for use with Digital SLR cameras.
Constructed from 14 elements in 10 groups, the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 APO DG Macro lens and 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DG Macro lens are both compatible with Sigma, Nikon-D, Canon, Konica Minolta and Pentax mounts.
To minimise the effect of flare and ghost, both lenses incorporate a multi-layer coating, and chromatic aberration is corrected thanks to Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass.
A macro switch can be used to swap into macro mode with a magnification of 1:2 at focal lengths of 200-300mm, giving both lenses a minimum focusing distance of 95cm.
The 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 APO DG Macro lens will retail at £199.99 and the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DG Macro will cost £149.99. Call 01707 329 999 or go to www.sigma-imaging-uk.com for more details.
