Designed specifically for use in digital cameras, the 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC Macro lens is new from Sigma.
Suitable for DSLRs with an APS-C sensor, the lens has a maximum magnification of 1:2:3 and can focus 20cm away from the subject throughout the zoom range.
Constructed from 15 Elements in 12 Groups, the lens weighs 455g and is a compact 79mm in length. Sigma claims that a new lens design and multi-layer coating help to produce images with reduced flare and ghosting, while the Special Low Dispersion lens (SLD) and two aspherical elements correct aberrations.
Fast autofocusing is promised from the inner focusing system, which stops the front of the lens rotating ? enabling the use of polarising filters and petal lens hoods.
The Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC Macro lens costs £269.99. Find out more at www.sigma-imaging-uk.com
