An announcement on the Nikon Europe website has identified problems with electrical components in some units of the D70 and D2H.
Problems with the D70 occur when the memory card is inserted; the access lamp keeps blinking and the camera doesn?t respond and on occasions when the memory card isn?t being used, the camera won?t turn on even when the battery indicator is full.
In some versions of the D2H the camera can?t focus automatically and the analog exposure indicator it defective; remaining frozen with the same settings,
In both cases Nikon has stated it will replace the components without charge, although you need to register for Nikon support and know the serial number of your camera.
