Samsung has strengthened its NX system by launching two new lenses - the Samsung NX12-24f/4-5.6 ED and the Samsung NX 45mm f/1.8.

The all-new Samsung NX 45mm f/1.8 slots into Samsung’s NX lens lineup between the 30mm f/2 pancake lens and the 60mm f/2.8 ED OIS SSA lens. Highly portable and lightweight at just 115g, it features Samsung’s stepping motor technology to ensure a fast and silent AF performance. Featuring a construction of 7elements in 6groups, the lens is equivalent to 69.3mm in 35mm terms and has a 0.45m minimum focusing distance. Measuring 62×44.5mm it also features a 43mm thread for attaching filters.

Samsung’s other new lens release is the Samsung NX12-24f/4-5.6 ED. Designed to be a perfect lens for travel with relatively small 63.5×65.5mm dimensions, its equivalent to 18.5-37mm in the 35mm terms. With a construction that includes 2 aspherical lenses and 1 extra low dispersion lens, it has a minimum focus distance of 0.24m and has a 58mm filter thread. As for its weight, the Samsung NX12-24f/4-5.6 ED weighs 208g.

These two Samsung NX lenses releases bring the total number in the NX system into double figures, with a total of 11 now being offered. Expect some hands on shots of these lenses to be added to this story as we make our way around Photokina.
