Results announced for inaugural RNLI Photographer of the Year competition.

Results have been announced for the inaugural RNLI Photographer of the Year competition in partnership with Pentax. The contest, open to everyone at the charity?s lifeboat stations and lifeguard units, recorded the intense drama of working in a lifesaving environment.

The winning image was taken by Portsmouth lifeboat station?s senior helm John Brooks, capturing the perilous and inhospitable environment in which these brave men and women work.

Other winners include Michael Picknett, of Redcar lifeboat station, for his action shot of a lifeboat launch in the ?Best Shoreworker? category and Robin Howell, of Perranporth lifeguard unit, in the ?Best Lifeguard Category?.
