Delivers writing capability of 31MB/per second

Aimed at professional photographers for whom speed is everything is the new CompactFlash card from US outfit Ridata.

The 300x speed CompactFlash flash memory card, which has a capacity of 16GB, delivers read speeds of approximately 45MB/per sec, while writing at about 31MB/per second. This is claimed to be one of the fastest transfer rates available.

But, says the manufacturer, it is also designed to withstand extreme operating temperatures, ranging from below freezing to excessive heat.

No price has been published as yet other than the statement that the new cards are ‘competitively street priced’, but they are coming to Amazon soon.

Also worth a mention is the fact that the cards carry a two-year warranty, and there is a tutorial on the Ridata website ‘with tips on how to care and handle flash media’.
