Drop, water and chemical proof G700 compact unveiled

Ricoh’s new G700 is built to withstand the majority of trials an average day on an industrial site would throw at it, such as a 2m drop and both ethanol and acid resistance. There’s also the capability not only to survive being submerged up to 5m in water, but also to function for two hours while there.

The G700 is capable of taking 12MP stills, and has a 5x optical zoom from a 28mm wide angle. There’s also a 3″ LCD screen as well as an electronic level and dust and cold resistance. Functions can be restricted via a password system so users can only shoot and playback in a specific manner, and recorded audio memos can be attached to particular images.
