Ricoh has unveiled a new entry to its Caplio range of digital compacts. The 8MP Caplio 500G wide succeeds last year?s 400G model and will retail for around £379.99. Like it?s predecessor, the camera?s key features include enhanced water and dust resistance, a wide-angle optical 3x zoom lens and compatibility with Construction CALS and other business systems. It goes further than the 400G with extra new features, such as improved impact resistance, a flash range of 10m and an anti-blur function. Unusually, it is designed for use on construction sites, insurance loss appraisal in disaster areas, schools and other outdoor situations.
