The new Pentax rear converter the HD Pentax DA is able to extend focal length of the main lens by 1.4 times and is also the first Pentax converter to work with autofocus
The rear converter is mounted between the camera body and main lens, extending focal length by 1.4x while measuring just 20mm in depth. Note that attaching the converter does reduce the maximum aperture by 1 stop.
In a first for Pentax converters, the HD Pentax DA AF Rear Converter 1.4x AW can work with camera-driven and lens-driven autofocus, though this does require the user ensures that the camera body being used has been updated with the latest firmware.
The new model is also the first Pentax converter with weather-resistant, dustproof construction.
The HD PENTAX DA AF Rear Converter 1.4x AW will be available at the end of February, priced at £379.99.
