Pentax has introduced a new 6MP compact with a 3x optical lens.
Described as ?ideal for the beginner and slightly more experienced photographer? this lightweight compact includes 12 picture modes, each optimised for a different shooting condition, as well as an Auto Select mode, which automatically chooses the mode most apt for the conditions.
Incorporated into the Optio S60 is a 12-bit A/D converter to help reproduce different gradations accurately and in dim lighting conditions, while the 35-105mm Pentax lens promises to reduce the effects of ghosting and flare.
The exterior of the S60 features aluminium alloy and power is supplied using two AA batteries while pictures can be viewed on the 2.5in LCD screen. Other features include 11Mb internal memory, 6cm Super Macro Mode and PictBridge compatibility.
