The S6 is the latest addition to the Pentax Optio range featuring a 1/2.5in 6MP CCD, 3x optical zoom and 2.5in LCD screen.
Sporting an aluminium-alloy exterior, at 19mm the S6 is 2mm slimmer than Pentax?s conventional units, thanks to the Sliding Lens System, a thinner LCD and flat backside of the lens unit.
Coating on the Pentax lens ensures minimal ghosting and flare, while improved noise reduction and accurate colours are promised from the Application Specific Integrated Unit (ASIC.)
The S6 offers 640×480 movie shooting at 30fps. Including anti-shake technology, the camera also supports DivX MPEG-4 compression. The S6 has 15 shooting modes selectable from a series of icons in the Mode palette. Other features include tracking AF, high sensitivity (in Candlelight mode) of ISO 800, USB 2.0 image transfer and high-speed continuous shooting at a rate of 1.6fps.
