PENTAX U.K. has announced a limited edition version of its acclaimed K10D digital SLR. The Pentax K10D Grand Prix Package, which also includes a D-BG2 GP battery grip, features gold finished Pentax branding and trim, and dark brown rubber coating on the body and grip.

PENTAX U.K. has announced a limited edition version of its acclaimed K10D digital SLR, to commemorate the camera winning the Camera Grand Prix 2007 Award in Japan. The Pentax K10D Grand Prix Package, which also includes a D-BG2 GP battery grip, features gold finished Pentax branding, K10D logo and mode dial. This is complimented by a new dark brown rubber coating on the body and grip, along with a specially designed leather camera strap with the award logo and Camera Grand Prix lettering, also in gold. The camera is installed with the latest firmware (Ver.1.30).
Only 5,000 limited-edition packages will be released, with 150 going to the UK, and there is expected to be no shortage of enthusiasts willing to pay the cost of the kit ? although final price and availability have yet to be announced.
The PENTAX K10D features a 10.2 MP sensor with built-in Shake Reduction and a highly impressive spec list which also includes professional level build quality. WDC gave it a rating of xx% in our in-depth test. It?s currently available in its standard form for around £600 with the 18-55mm kit lens, or £550 body only.
