Panasonic has unveiled a series of new compacts in its Lumix range, also announcing a new ?FS? range.

The FS range sees its introduction with three new models. The FS5 and FS20 both boast 10MP sensors and 4x optical zoom ranges, with the latter model featuring a slightly larger LCD screen at 3 inches. A third model, the FS3, features a similar design to its siblings, but with only an 8MP sensor and 3x optical zoom range.

The company?s ?supezoom compact? TZ range also gets a couple of new additions in the TZ4 and TZ5. They follow the TZ2 and TZ3 models released last year, with the same 10x optical zooms as seen before, covering an equivalent range of 28-280mm. The TZ4 and TZ5 feature 8.1MP and 9.1MP sensor respectively, with the TZ5 having the edge with HD recording capabilities and a larger LCD screen.

The popular FX range also has a new member, with the FX35. The model features a 10MP sensor and 4x optical zoom, covering a focal range of 25-100mm, and also sees the introduction on Panasonic?s IV Venus processing engine. This is claimed to feature ?more advanced signal processing technology for rendering even higher-quality images?. A new Intelligent Exposure function also features on the model, as do HD recording capabilities.

Two further models complete today?s new releases. The LZ8 and LZ10 both feature 5x optical zoom lenses, and feature 8MP and 10MP sensors respectively. The new IV Venus processing engine also features on each model while greater control over manual functionality has also been added.
