Olympus has released a firmware update for the PEN series of cameras increasing the auto focus speed and lens compatibility. The E-P1, E-P2 and E-PL1 will be capable of accepting the new MSC lens range which includes 14-150mm and 9-18mm options. 

As was indicated in our previous E-PL1 review some focusing issues were apparent with the contrast-detect based system, so hopefully the new update can correct those problems. The update also improves functionality when the VF-2 viewfinder is attached to the E-P1 and E-P2 by allowing the camera to display images and the menu on the main LCD screen.
