Version 1.3 is the latest firmware update from Olympus for its E-300 digital SLR, offering enhanced metering capabilities and button timer.
The updates improves the stability of Digital ESP and centre-weighted-average metering offering the photographer more control. The button timer enables the user to specify how long a setting will remain modified before reverting back to its default setting.
Two new scene modes, Underwater Macro and Underwater Wide, are enabled by the update, providing greater scope for underwater photography. Olympus has also adjusted the start-up process, so enabling support for a wider variety of lenses in the future.
E-300 owners can download the update by connecting their camera to the computer and running Olympus Master software, selecting Update Camera from the Online Service menu.
