Olympus has bolstered its compact ranges, with an array of new models announced.

The SP range sees the addition of the SP 570UZ (pictured) ? updating the popular SP 560UZ released last year. The camera?s main feature is its impressive 20x optical zoom, spanning an equivalent focal range of 26-520mm. This has been complimented by a ten-megapixel sensor and Dual Image Stabilisation, with a 2.7in LCD screen adorning the rear. Other features of note include Olympus?s TruePic III imaging processor and BrightCapture technology.

The mju range gets five new members ? three in its Stylus range and two in its SW series. The mju 1010 and 1020 both feature 7x optical zoom lenses and 10MP sensors, with the latter model also incorporating a new version of Olympus?s HyperCrystal LCD screen. The mju 840, meanwhile, sees a 5x optical zoom and 8MP sensor combined with a 2.7in LCD screen.

The SW range, designed for shock and water resistance, greets the mju 850 SW and mju 1030 SW models, with both sporting Face detection, Digital Image Stabilisation and TruePic III imaging processors. The mju 1030 SW adds a 2.7in LCD with BrightCapture II technology and a 10MP sensor.

The entry-level FE range, meanwhile, is added to with three new compacts: the FE 310, FE 340 and FE 350. All three feature an 8MP sensor, with the first two boasting 5x optical zoom lenses and the latter featuring a 4x optical wide zoom, giving it an equivalent focal length of 28-112mm.
