Nikon has introduced the world?s first macro lens to incorporate Vibration Reduction (VR) system and Nikon Silent Wave Motor (SWM).
The enhanced Vibration Reduction system II enables the AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED lens to attain shutter speeds four steps lower than conventional lenses. It reduces the effect of camera shake and improves image sharpness ? particularly beneficial for close-up photography.
Fast and quiet auto-focusing is promised from the SWM, which enables the focus to swap quickly between manual and auto-focusing modes.
Nano Crystal Coating is designed to decrease the effects of flare, while chromatic aberration is reduced thanks to one ED glass element.
A non-rotating lens element in the Internal Focusing system enables circular polarising filters to be used.
Suitable for use with digital and film SLRs, the Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G lens has a minimum focusing distance of 31cm and 1:1 maximum reproduction ratio.
It will be available in March for £599.99; log onto www.nikon.co.uk to find out more.
