35-100mm f/2.8 and 12-35mm f/2.8 x-series lenses unveiled at CES 2012

Although the company hasn’t issued a press release, the Panasonic stand at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show 2012 unveiled two forthcoming Micro Four Thirds lenses: a 35-100mm f/2.8 and 12-35mm f/2.8, both with Power OIS (optical image stabilisation) systems.

Set to join the latest 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 collapsible and 45-175mm f/4-5.6 x-series lenses, it looks as though the next couple of years will see Panasonic grow its premium lens brand. The latest 35-100mm and 12-35mm lenses are set to have a continuous bright f/2.8 aperture throughout the focal range.

Could these lenses be the footing for a forthcoming high-end Micro Four Thirds G-series system?
