The Nikon COOLPIX S1200pj, with built-in projector, and Nikon COOLPIX S100, with 3.5

Two new additions to the Nikon COOLPIX range have been announced in the form of the S1200pj and S100. The latter is a slim model with a 3.5″ OLED touchscreen and 3D shooting mode, where as the former offers a built-in projector which can display images from the likes of an iPhone and iPad as well as the camera itself.

The Nikon COOLPIX S1200pj follows on from the S1000pj and S1100pj by including a mini projector within the camera. This enables the S1200pj to display images onto a flat surface via the 20 lumen projector, giving it the ability to show photos from the camera or, in a new addition, from an iPad, iPhone or iPod. This opens up the functionality of the S1200pj to show images shot on other devices as well as movies, turning it from a simple compact camera into a handy portable display device.

The COOLPIX S1200pj offers a 14MP sensor and 5x optical zoom as well, and 720p HD movie recording as well as a number of special effects to add to still images or movies.

The Nikon COOLPIX S100 offers a 3.5″ OLED screen with touchscreen technology. A 16MP sensor is also included alongside a 5x optical zoom lens and 3D shooting mode.

The slim 18.1mm body is something of a feature in itself, with the touchscreen ensuring few buttons remain to spoil the aesthetics. A 1080p HD movie also appears, as does a single lens 3D movie mode which combines two images to produce a 3D effect.

Both cameras will be available on the 22nd of September priced at £249 for the S100 and £399 for the S1200pj. For more information head to Nikon’s website.
