The Dynax 5D is a 6MP SLR incorporating anti-shake technology with a body price of £599.99.
It incorporates a 6.1MP Interline primary colour CCD and Konica Minolta?s award winning anti-shake technology, which uses a CCD-Shift mechanism that moves the CCD to compensate for camera shake, enabling the 5D to be used with shutter speeds two to three stops slower. The 5D incorporates a Minolta A-type bayonet mount and is compatible with all lenses in the Dynax system.
Following the release of the Dynax 7D, the 5D is the second digital SLR from Konica Minolta. Constructed from glass fibre plastic and with dimensions of 130.5 x 92.5 x 66.5mm, it is smaller than many SLRs, with a volume approximately 22% less than the Dynax 7D.
Fast processing speeds are promised from the Advanced LSI engine, while the CxProcess III image processor works over four elements: sharpness, colour reproduction, gradation reproduction and noise reduction, to create stunning picture detail and striking colour rendition.
A 2.5-inch LCD screen can be used for viewing images and navigating through the menu, the display automatically changing from portrait to landscape orientation depending on the way the camera is being used.
A Digital Subject Program Selector automatically swaps between five scene modes – portrait, landscape, evening, night and sports – depending on the scene. Continuous shooting up to 10 frames is possible at a rate of 3fps, it also offers White-Balance Bracketing and the Colour Temperature can be adjusted in increments of 100K.
Available from September, the Dynax 5D retails at £599.99 for the body only, or in kit form for £649.99 with an AF DT 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 lens
