As the printing market continues to expand, Kodak?s new printer kiosk boasts a faster upload and print time, in a bid to improve the printing experience.
Designed for use in high-street stores, the Kodak Picture Kiosk G4 is the latest addition to Kodak?s printer kiosk line-up, and is capable of producing a 6×4-inch print in approximately four seconds and a 10x8in print in around 39 seconds.
Kodak has made modifications to the design; the G4 has a footprint that is 30% smaller and lighter than its predecessor, and the reliability of the system has been improved. Upload speeds are twice as fast, enabling photographs to appear on the screen more quickly, thanks to a high-performance processor 35% faster than previous models.
Users can obtain prints from a range of sources, including memory cards, CDs/DVDs and Bluetooth-enabled devices. The kiosk supports a range of different print sizes, can produce prints with or without borders, and print directly onto Kodak Picture CDs. Each print is covered with Kodak XTRALIFE coating, providing stain and waterproof protection.
Incorporated into each kiosk is version 5.2 of Kodak Picture Maker software, incorporating Perfect Touch Technology to produce detailed, colourful pictures. A total of 70,000 kiosks are being released worldwide. Shipping starts this month and they will be widely available in 2006.
