John Lewis has unveiled its newly refurbished technology department at its flagship London Oxford Street store.

The new department, benefiting from a £500,000 refurbishment, is the largest consumer electronics department in any department store in Europe, and boasts a higher sales turnover than most small John Lewis stores.

Combined with an aesthetic overhaul is the addition of new staff, all highly trained to offer advice on the right product for you.

The departments camera section sees a range of all current and popular models, most of which are housed on open plinths meaning customers can experience how the camera feels in the hand.

“We are really pleased with the new department, where technology is bought to life in a completely useable and practical way. We have set out products in a way that demonstrates how they can be connected to each other so customers can see how to get the most out of their purchases before they buy,” commented Michael Butt, Department Manager for Audio and TV.
