Improved camera functionality on new model

Apple finally put pay to endless Internet rumours with the announcement of its new iPhone – the iPhone 3G S.

Apple claims the iPhone 3G S is the ‘fastest, most powerful iPhone yet’, and comes complete with a range of new features.

The iPhone’s camera is the area which sees the most improvement, with the model now sporting an improved, though by no means class-leading 3MP device, complete with auto focus, auto white balance and macro mode. The iPhone 3G S also allows the user to select a focus point by simply touching on the desired area of the screen.

The iPhone 3G S now also comes complete with video capture, with the model delivering 30fps VGA recording, along with the ability to edit video and share on-board the device.

Other headline additions include voice control, an integrated magnetic compass for ease of navigation and extended battery life.

UK provider O2 say the 3G S will be available from 19th June, with prices varying subject to contract.
