Free-to-enter Young Garden Photographer of the Year competition prizes announced

The Team at Garden Photographer of the Year has announced an expansion of the prize pool for this year?s competition.

The winner of the Young Garden Photographer of the Year competition will now bag a Canon EOS 40D, complete with 17-85mm lens and more than £500 worth of vouchers from Manfrotto, Kata and Visible Dust, with second and third place entrants in the YGPOTY competition taking home £250 and £150 of vouchers respectively.

The new prizes add to the total prize pool of over £25,000 for this years bumper GPOTY competition, making it one of the biggest to date.

The YGPOTY competition is open to under 16?s, and submissions can be made in the following five categories ?

? Plant Portraits
? Garden Views
? My Garden
? Life in the Garden
? Trees

A single entry may be made in each category for free, with up to four extra submissions allowed in each at a price of £5 per category. Entries are allowed up until 31st January, with the winners to be displayed at a purpose-built outdoor exhibition in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, from May to September 2008.
