New Gloxy GX-F990 TTL Flash is first Gloxy flash to feature High Speed Sync

The Gloxy GX-F990 TTL’s metal hot shoe is compatible with Canon and Nikon DSLRs, and it can be used in slave mode with any camera on the market to a distance of up to 30 metres.

Its main selling point is the introduction of 1/8000sec high speed sync – extremely useful for capturing high speed action. This is a first for Gloxy products, though we’ll have to wait and see how well it really works.

Also new to the GX-F990 is an ‘optimised heat sink’, which protects the unit against overheating by allowing it to cool down quicker between shots.

The unit also supports Through the Lens (TTL) flash metering, exposure compensation, bracketing and exposure locking. The head of the flash is rotatable 90º vertically and 360º horizontally.

Four AA batteries are required to power the GX-F990. It has a colour temperature of 5500k and a recycle time of 0.1-6.0sec (cut down to 4.5sec with an external power source).

The Gloxy GX-F990 TTL Flash range includes models for Canon and Nikon, both of which are currently priced at £127.49. This is a special launch offer, so if you’re interested head over to Digital Toy Shop sooner rather than later.
