A summary of what was announced at this year’s show

The 21st Focus on Imaging show drew to a close yesterday, having been visited by many thousands of photography enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Panasonic had arguably the busiest stand at the show, owning to the combined launch of the new G2 and G10, along with a display theatre showcasing its new 3D TV technology. The Panasonic stand also received the accolade of ‘Best Stand in Show’ award from the organisers themselves.

Other highlights around the show included Sony’s expansive stand, complete with demonstrations of its Transferjet wireless file transfer technology, while Tamron used the show as a platform to announce its latest lens – the 70-300mm USM.

Nikon announced its new multi-million pound advertising campaign under the ‘I Am Nikon’ moniker, with the promise of a range of high-profile product launches on the horizon.

Fuji were showing their latest HS10 bridge camera with a 30x optical zoom (yes that is 30x i.e 24-720mm!) so how come it is not mentioned in your review of what was announced at the show? It looked pretty impresive to me being 10Mp, tilting 3″ screen, full 1080 movie mode etc, etc. Did no one from the magazine visit the large Fuji Stand??

It was a great day out and those guys at the Sony stand knew how to answer the questions about all the Alpha’s Camera and Lens. I hope they will be there again next time!
