In the first of Epson?s Photokina announcements, the manufacturer has unveiled a series of three new all-in-one models aimed at entry-level consumers.
The Epson Stylus DX6000, DX5000 and DX4000 Series are billed as ?ideal for a wide range of printing needs from documents to photo printing,? for those who output low levels of prints.
All three models feature Epson DURABrite Ultra ink, a print resolution of up to 5760x1440dpi and Epson?s Micro Piezo technology. The all-in-ones are additionally each compatible with four individual ink cartridges priced under £10.
Stylus DX Series features include Epson PhotoEnhance software, which offers automatic photo enhancements such as levels adjustments and red-eye removal. For scanning, Easy Photo Fix technology is included for restoring old and faded photos while ABBYY FineReader Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software is on hand for converting scanned documents into text on a computer.
The DX6000 and DX5000 feature memory card slots and PictBridge compatibility to suit the needs of digital camera users. There are also print speeds of up to 27 pages per minute and a photo print speed of just 28 seconds, while scanning resolution is billed as up to 1200dpi. The premium level DX6000 additionally features a 2inch LCD for reviewing images without the need for a computer.
The DX4000 Series meanwhile prints up to 23 pages per minute and features a scanner with a resolution up to 600dpi. Epson is billing the DX4000 as ?an ideal printing solution for a home environment where quality, flexibility and cost matter.?
Announcing the launch, Coll Kretz, Product Manager, Epson Europe says, ?As well as providing crisp and smudge-proof output on plain paper, thanks to our DURABrite Ultra ink, you can create high-quality photos on glossy paper that are bright and vibrant. All three models also deliver cost effective printing through the individual ink cartridges, making them your perfect home printing partner.?
