Epson has introduced a flatbed scanner incorporating Digital ICE Technology and retailing at under £200.
Offering a resolution of 4800 x 9600 dpi, the 4490 is the latest edition to Epson?s Perfection range, incorporating an Transparency Unit that is capable of scanning four 35mm slides, one medium format film (up to 12x9cm) or twelve 35mm frames. Billed as the ?first scanner in its class to feature Digital ICE technology,? for removing the effects of scratches and dirt from film, it has the ability to distinguish between mono and colour, and positive and negative film.
Four buttons located on the front enable users to easily copy, create PDFs or attach a scan to an email.
