Casio is extending its EXIILIM range; the EX-S600 includes a 6MP CCD and Anti-Shake DSP.
Measuring 13.7mm at its thinnest point, the camera includes a 3x optical zoom and Anti Shake DSP, which is designed to reduce blurring caused by camera shake or when shooting moving objects.
Casio claims that the EX-S600 offers fast timings, including: a 0.007sec shutter lag, 0.1sec High-speed playback interval and – once the camera is turned on – it can capture the first picture in 1sec.
Alongside 34 scene modes, the new Revive Shot mode restores faded colours and adjusts for keystoning. To aid visibility Casio has doubled the brightness of the 2.2in LCD, while the Super Life Battery has the capacity to capture 300 photos from a single charge or provide 110 minutes of movie recording.
Incorporating a 9-Point Multi AF function, Quick Shutter enables fast processing and Auto Macro automatically swaps between macro and automatic focusing.
The 640×480 VGA movie mode utilises MPEG-4 compression, and includes an image stabiliser to reduce the effect of camera shake. Past Movie captures five seconds of footage from the moment the shutter is pressed; and Short Movie records up to eight seconds of footage, before or after the shutter has been pressed. Take a photo while shooting a movie with SnapShot-in-Movie.
Available in three colours ? Mistral Blue, Latin Orange and Sparkle Silver ? the EX-S600 is supplied with a multi-function cradle that can be used for charging and connecting it to a television. No price has been announced, but it will be available in February. Find out more at www.exilim.co.uk or by calling 0208 208 7801.
