Canon announces a video-based firmware upgrade for the EOS 5D mkII. Like the recently announced EOS 7D, the new firmware will permit the 5D mkII to record 1080p video at both 24 or 25 frames per second – compliant with both PAL & NTSC ‘cinematic’ frame rates.

The firmware is only disclosed as in development, with no definitive release date announced as yet. We’ll endavour to keep you posted…
