ChromaLife100 is a new printing system from Canon, designed to help deliver fade-resistant prints with strong colours.
Comprising of Canon ink and photo paper, ChromaLife100 works with Canon?s FINE print head technology to create what Canon describe as a ?technology triangle.? Results display a wide colour spectrum and provide 30 years of fade resistance if kept in a photo frame and 10 years when open to the air.
Canon has also announced that all new entries into the PIXMA range will display 10 x 15-inch borderless print speeds, instead of the more conventional pages per minute (ppm.)
Katsuichi Shimizu from Canon comments: ?We want consumers to be confident that the photo-print speeds we quote for our PIXMA products provide a reliable estimation of the time required to produce prints that match the image quality offered by photo labs.?
The move comes as market research firm IDC predicts a rise in photo printing as digital photography becomes more popular; in 2008 the number of pictures taken is predicted to increase by 80%.
