Canon has announced the availability of the EOS movie plug-in for Final Cut Pro.

The plug-in is aimed at enabling quicker and easier editing of EOS movie footage with the software. It does this by converting EOS movie footage to Apple’s ProRes 422 codec at around twice normal speed.

The plug-in also supports ‘log and transfer’ of video footage from a range of the manufacturers most recent HD video DSLRs.

The plug-in will be available as a free public beta for testing and evaluation in the middle of next month. For more information, visit Canon online.
