Sanyo has announced three new additions to its digital camera line-up. Heading the range is the Xacti VPC-C4E, a lightweight camera and camcorder combo with a 5.8x optical zoom, capable of capturing 4MP images and DVD quality MPEG movies.
The release follows the success of the Xacti VAP-C1, although the C4 includes some notable improvements including a 1.8-inch transreflexive LCD and digital image stabiliser ? designed to counter the effect of shake. The C4 has the capability to produce 8MP-recorded images though interpolation.
It is due to be available in the shops from June, and Sanyo has yet to confirm a price for the C4 although it is expected to retail at around £500. Supplied with the camera is a 1Gb SecureDigital card for capturing up to an hour of video, a 128Mb card for storing photographs on, as well as a docking station for charging.
Both sporting a more traditional design, the Xacti VPC-S5 is a five-megapixel camera while the VPC-S4 has a 4MP sensor. Both include a 2.8x optical zoom, 1.8-inch LCD screen, 16Mb of internal memory and the ability to capture 2cm macro photographs. No price has been announced for either camera.
