Adobe?s acquisition of software rival Macromedia is expected to close on December 3rd.
A joint statement from Adobe and Macromedia confirms: ?They have received or been notified they will receive all regulatory clearances necessary to complete Adobe?s pending acquisition of Macromedia.?
With products such as InDesign and Photoshop, Adobe dominates the digital imaging market, while Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver are leading web-development programs. This development follows news in April 2005 that Adobe was set to buy Macromedia for $3.4 billion; the initial statement commented: ?The two companies will meet a wide set of customer needs and have a significantly greater opportunity to grow into new markets, particularly in the mobile and enterprise segments.?
