Adobe has announced the latest version of Photoshop CS2. Long recognised as the foremost design and image-editing program, the new version of Photoshop builds on the success of CS, with a host of new features aimed at digital photographers and designers.
At the heart of Photoshop CS2 is Adobe Bridge, the newly designed browser that is now a standalone application. Used for viewing a wide variety of file types, including PDF?s, graphics and photographs, it includes Camera Raw 3.0 workflow that can be used for batch processing raw images to a variety of different formats. Adobe Bridge can also be used to access the new Adobe Stock Photo, which offers access to over 230,000 images from a selection of stock libraries including Photodisc by Getty images that can be incorporated into design work.
Photoshop?s new Vanishing Point feature enables adjustments, such as cloning, transforming and painting, to be made within the perspective of an image, Image Warping creates 3D effects including wrap around images and Smart Objects can be used to scale, rotate and warp vector graphics. Other new tools include the one-click Red-Eye correction, multi-layer control, an enhanced Spot Healing Brush, 32-Bit High Dynamic image support and advanced noise reduction.
Bryan Lamkin from Adobe comments: ?Photoshop CS2 pushes the envelope with powerful features and simplified workflows that provide photographers and creative professionals the freedom to deliver stunning images.?
