Four tripods comprise the new Air travel range from Giottos, which debuted at the Photography Show this week

The new Giottos Air range has been billed as ‘super-lightweight and über compact’ and to that end have been designed with travelling photographers in mind.

Two of the four tripods in the series are carbon fibre, the others aluminium. Each features four-section legs with collar leg-locks, as well as a Y-shaped central column and twin spirit levels.

Prices for the series range from £180 to £334. The cheapest is the Air Kit 17, an aluminium model which extends to a maximum height of 135cm and supports up to 4 kg of gear.

At the more expensive end of the spectrum you’ve got the Air Kit 334, which is a carbon fibre model built to carry up to 6kg of kit. Interestingly, one of the legs on the Air Kit 334 is detachable and can function on its own as a carbon fibre monopod.

The new tripods debuted at the Photography Show in Birmingham this week. More details are expected to soon be added soon to Giottos’ offical website:www.giottos-tripods.co.uk.
