The Mayor's Thames Festival takes place on the 8th & 9th September 2012 at the South Bank of the River Thames. Join us for FREE Photography Masterclasses in association with Nikon.
2012 promises to be an unforgettable year for London! The Thames Festival will be on over the closing weekend of the London 2012 Games, and the Thames Festival will be the Mayor's, and the city's, final celebration of an amazing year for London.
It's going to be incredible - and unmissable! Enjoy a feast of photographic opportunities as the Thames is brought to life with a plethora of free activities from a Korean wedding to 600 children singing in the Scoop at More London, and a carnival to a spectacular fireworks show.
Don't forget to take your camera, because there is a superb photography competition open to Festival-goers who take pictures of the event over the 8th & 9th September. Up for grabs is a first prize of a Nikon D5100 kit with 18-55mm & 50mm 1.8G & SB-700 Speedlight all worth a total of £1,275.97 RRP as well as a one-night break for two people at the Guoman Tower Hotel, Tower Bridge, PLUS three runners-up prizes of a Nikon COOLPIXS9300 worth £299.99 RRP each!
To help you achieve those winning shots, Amateur Photographer and What Digital Camera in association with Nikon will be hosting free photography masterclasses. These will feature pro photographers Jeremy Walker (Nikon expert - landscapes) and Uzair Kharawala (Nikon expert - weddings and portraiture) as well as Damien Demolder, Editor of Amateur Photographer, and Nigel Atherton, Editor of What Digital Camera. Join us for one of the events of the year, for photography talks and amazing chances to win superb Nikon prizes - see last year's winning festival shots printed on acrylic by PhotoBox.co.uk in an exhibition outside the marquee - and it's all FREE!
Find us in the Photography Masterclasses Marquee near the Millennium Bridge on the South Bank of the River Thames. Masterclasses will run from 12noon-5pm on both days. The first 1,000 people to visit the marquee will also receive a free magazine!
