Fujifilm has announced the launch of the FinePix F800EXR - a compact digital camera equipped with a Fujinon 20x optical zoom that can also capture at a 40x zoom range. With a focal length that's equivalent to 25-500mm and a 16megapixel BSI (Back Side Illuminated) EXR-CMOS sensor at its heart, the F800EXR also benefits from Fujifilm's Wireless Image Transfer facility for sending images directly to smartphones and tablets.
To enable the wireless function of the camera users are required to download a free Fujifilm Photo receiver app. The advantage of doing so means the end user can easily transfer the photo from the camera to the phone or tablet without going through the trouble of entering Wi-Fi passwords each and every time. Up to 30 images can be sent in a single transmission and there's the option of sharing photos online via Facebook and other social networking sites, anywhere, anytime, without having to worry about accessing Wi-Fi hotspots.
A new Advanced filter feature on the F800EXR offers six new artistic effects. These include pop colour, high key, toy camera, minature, dynamic tone and partial colour that allows you to select a colour you'd like to remain in the shot before turning the remainder of the image black and white.
Elsewhere, the F800EXR features a 3inch, 460k-dot LCD display, it has the ability of recording full HD video at 1920x1080 and offers RAW file capture as well as a 360 degree motion panorama mode.
Available from the end of September in three colours which include Black, Red and White, it's expected to cost £279. For further information including a video that reveals how images are shared wirelessly, click here.
