Samsung has increased the number of Wi-Fi enabled cameras it produces with the release of the EX2F. Following in the footsteps of the EX1, the EX2F has been designed with an even wider 24mm f/1.4 lens making it the brightest in any compact camera to date.

With a 12Mp 1/1.7inch BSI CMOS sensor at its heart and an ISO range of 80-3200 (6400-12800 in extended mode) the EX2F gives users the opportunity to store and share images remotely with its Wi-Fi functionality. One of the key manufacturers to explore the Wi-Fi capabilities, Samsung has also introduced the same functionality into their latest compact system cameras - the NX20, NX210 and NX1000. The EX2F's Mobile Link opens doors for connectivity with smartphones, without having to resize images or video. Users can also access the remote viewfinder to use their smartphone's screen to frame shots from a variety of angles.

The EX2F's 24mm f/1.4 wide-angle lens consists of eleven elements in nine groups, with four aspherical lenses and two high refractive lenses making up its design. Samsung claims the new lens provides a 20% increase in the amount of light on the sensor, a 20% increase in image quality and a 10% increase in zoom ratio.

Offering both JPEG and RAW shooting modes, the EX2F also encompasses Full Manual control as well as Aperture and Shutter Priority modes. The Dual Dial and front wheel keys and intended to make it easy to adjust exposure and spinning the EX2F around and viewing at it from the rear exposes the 3inch AMOLED display that's the swivel variety.

Nick White, Head of Digital Imaging, Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland, said "The EX2 is the perfect camera for both those that are used to a DSLR and the photographers that are looking for better image quality and control than a standard point and shoot. The added benefits of WiFi and a sleek design make this camera one of our most innovative yet."

Available from early August, the EX2F is expected to cost £429.
