Nikon announce new long zoom compact

Nikon's recently released group of compacts includes the L310, a compact superzoom model which combines a 21x optical zoom with a 14MP sensor. Where the P510 and L810 boasted some ground-breaking specs, the L310 is slightly more reserved, with a sub-£200 price tag to reflect it.

The optical zoom is stabilized electrnoically rather than optically, thanks to a maximum ISO range of 6400. Elsewhere the HD movie mode records in 720p, which is a step down from the full 1080p, and the LCD screen is 3inches and powered by AA batteries. 

At a lower price point than many other models with a similar zoom range the L310 looks set to appeal to improving snappers on a budget. The L310 will be on sale on the 15th of March, for more information head to Nikon's website.
