NME announce 2011 music photography awards

New competition in conjunction with Nikon launched to find the best gig photographers

James Berry's winning shot in the Festival category of the NME Music photography Awards

NME and Nikon has launched the 2011 music photography awards, hoping to find the best gig, portrait and pro snappers out there. There are six categories, being Live, Portrait, Reportage, Festival, Under 18 and Festival. The winners of each category receives a Nikon S3100 compact, with the top two going to a festival to take images for the NME. The winner from that pair will then be crowned overall winner and be awarded a Nikon D5100 DSLR.

After an overwhelming, and extremely high-quality, response last year the expectation level this year is all the higher. The competition closes on the 14th of September, for more information head here
