Adobe has released the final versions of the latest updates for Photoshop Lightroom and Camera Raw. The updates, version 2.4 for Lightroom and 5.4 for Camera Raw, had both previously been available in ‘candidate release’ format, meaning that they were open to future change.

Both updates include new Raw files support to 31 new cameras and camera backs, including the Canon EOS 500D, Nikon D5000, Panasonic LUMIX GH1 and 18 Hasselblad models.

Adobe has also released an update to its Digital Negative specification (DNG). DNG 1.3 now includes opcodes, a list of operations and parameters aimed at improving images quality.

Lightroom 2.4 is available is a free download for existing Lightroom 2 customers, while Camera Raw 5.4 is available as a free download for existing customers of Photoshop CS4, Elements 7, Premiere Elements 7 and Elements 6 for Mac.
