Olympus has today announced the latest addition to its growing DSLR portfolio – the Olympus E-620.

Claimed to be the world’s smallest and lightest DSLR with built-in Image Stabilisation, the E-620 will sit between Olympus’s E-520 and E-30 DSLRs in pricing, sharing much of its specification with the latter.

For example, the E-620 boasts a 12.3MP high-speed Live MOS sensor, believed to be the same as that in the E-30, and also features a 2.7in free-angle LCD screen, though it is of the HyperCrystal III variety, compared to the E-30’s HyperCrystal II.

The E-620 features the same AF Live View as the E-30, though only boasts a 7-point AF system, compared to the 11-point system of the E-30. The E-620 does, however, feature built-in image stabilisation, along with the six ‘art filter’ effects seen on the E-30.

The Olympus E-620 will be arriving in stores towards the end of April, with a retail price yet to be confirmed.
