Olympus Stylus range gains three new models

Olympus Stylus digital compacts

Introducing the µ-5000, µ-7000 and µ-9000

Olympus has added three new digi compacts to its µ (Mju) Stylus range.

The Mju-5000, Mju-7000 and Mju-9000 feature compact optical zooms, with magnifications of
5x, 7x and 10x respectively and also pack in 12 megapixels.


Shared specs include a Beauty mode, Intelligent Auto Mode, and in-camera panorama mode.

The Olympus µ-5000 will
be available at the end of January, while the µ-9000 and µ-7000 will arrive in mid February.

Olympus µ-9000:

  • Dual Image Stabilisation (combines mechanical and digital image stabiliser)

  • High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) technology incorporated for viewing images in high definition on HDMI TVs
  • 7.6cm/3.0 inch HyperCrystal II LCD (230,000 dots)
  • 12 Megapixels 
  • Intelligent Auto Mode which detects the five
    most commonly used scenes and adjusts settings, focus and exposure
    automatically
  • Advanced Face Detection of up to
    16 persons 
  • TruePic III image processo
  • Movie recording with sound (up to VGA resolution at 30fps)
  • xD-Picture Card and microSD Cardcompatibility
