Sanyo is boosting its successful range of Xacti digital stills and video cameras with the launch of the new 6-megapixel C6.
Unveiling the new arrival at its spring tradeshow, Sanyo introduced the C6 as the ?the world?s smallest, thinnest and lightest solid state still and moving image camera of its kind.?
Following in the footsteps of the recently released C5, this latest entry to the Xacti line up not only boasts an enhanced 6-megapixel sensor, but also 30fps MPEG4 video capabilities, a large 2-inch LCD screen and a probing 5x optical zoom lens.
The distinctive camera is set in the same mould as its Xacti contemporaries, and makes use of a vertical ?gun? style handgrip which strikes a design balance between the needs of both video and stills photographers.
It also includes Sanyo?s own Digital Image Stabiliser, which promises to provide correction for the camera handshake that can occur when shooting long lengths of video. The system aims to compensate effectively under any zoom setting for more natural and clear results.
Demonstrating enhanced attention to detail in both design and performance, this latest camera launch from Sanyo aims to underline the direction in which the company hopes to go with its digital camera line up. The Xacti range initially debuted in 2004 with the award winning C1, and this was hotly followed up with the higher specification C4 and the C5 models. This fourth introduction to the Xacti family demonstrates a firm commitment to building on the specification of its range as a whole ? and Sanyo is set to add to this range further later this year.
The C6 is due to hit stores at the end of this month and full details of the camera can be found at www.sanyo.co.uk or by ringing 01923 246363.
