Two superzoom, or bridge, cameras have been announced by Sony, that are set to replace last year’s Cyber-shot H1. The models, the H2 and H5, are the first H-series cameras to incorporate Double Anti-Blur technology first seen on the T9.
This works by combining the cameras’ high ISO capabilities of up to ISO 1000 with Super Steady Shot optical image stabilisation to reduce the chances of camera shake in low light or when using the long zoom.
The Cyber-shot H5 features a 7.2 million effective pixel sensor and 3in LCD, while the H2 has 6 million effective pixels and a 2in LCD. Both models use Sony’s 1/2.5in Super HAD CCD and incorporate Sony’s Real Image Processor. They each have a 12x zoom lens, covering the equivalent of 36-432mm with a wide f/2.8-3.7 maximum aperture and macro focus down to 2cm.
Both cameras include 30MB of internal memory, along with a card slot for Memory Stick Duo and Duo PRO media cards. They also offer full exposure control with manual and auto modes including seven scene modes.
Sony has yet to announce a price for either camera. Find out more at www.sony.co.uk or by calling 08705 11199.
